At the beginning of 2018, we launched the first of our Love Potions -- our new collection of massage oils made with ethically cultivated essential oils extracted from plants with aphrodisiac properties.
Since Antiquity intoxicating fragrances have been used to excite the object of our affections and enhance sexual intimacy. When you breath in aromatic oils, they travel through your olfactory system to the limbic portion of your brain which controls your heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and sexual impulses. Aphrodisiacs create a euphoric state and stimulate sexual pleasure through their powerful influence over mind and body.
Aphrodisiacs (that actually have active components) are what make our massage oils different from the others on the market that have “fragrance oil”. So, not only do these vegan blends leave your skin feeling silky smooth and smell amazing, our Love Potions can actually positively impact your overall mood and sexual experience.
Love Potion #17 is made with Almond Oil, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Cedarwood, Tangerine, Cinnamon, Ginger & Vit. E. The result is a scent that is soft and sweet with just a hint of citrus.
Love Potion #23 is made with Almond Oil, Ylang Ylang, Lime, Pink Grapefruit, Frankincense, Jasmine, Vetiver & Vit. E. The scent of this potion is more noticeable with as gorgeous mix of floral, citrus and warm undertones.
In case you’re in need of some extra inspiration, here’s a few fun (and maybe unexpected) ways to enjoy our new Sutil Love Potions.
1. Pour a cap-full on the bath.
Sometimes it’s hard to unwind after a busy day. If you’re planning a relaxing evening (solo or with your partner), a nice warm bath scented with essential oils is a great place to start. Pour a small cap full of your favorite Love Potion into the water and climb in. The hot water will warm and relax your muscles while allowing you to enjoy a spa-like sensual aromatherapy experience. When you step out of the tub, your body will be delicately moisturized and ready for whatever comes next.
2. Use it on your body after showering and/or shaving.
Made with Almond Oil and Vitamin E, our Love Potions feel amazing on the skin. To quote one of our favorite bloggers, Suze, “the Love Potions make my skin turn to velvet….soothing and luxurious; their light presence easily blended into my skin, leaving out the need to wipe it off afterwards.” Because of this, they make the perfect moisturizer showering or shaving your body -- especially if you live somewhere like Canada (like we do) where winters are synonymous with dry skin. The yummy fragrances are an added bonus!
3. Apply it as a light perfume.
Whether you work in a fragrance free environment or are looking for a light-scent with aromatherapy properties, our Love Potions provide the perfect subtle fragrance. Massage some into your pulse points or dab some near your nose. Even if you’re not planning any romantic activities, ingredients like Ylang Ylang (used in both Potions), along with boosting your libido have powerful relaxing qualities.
4. Use it to sensually massage your partner.
The Love Potions are amazing for sensual massage! Place some oil on your hands and start by massaging their back with long, sensual strokes while the aphrodisiac blend of essential oils fills the air and sets the mood.
5. Release tense muscles.
Most of us carry a lot of tension in our neck and shoulders. Use the Love Potion to massage and release tense muscles. Start at the top (neck and shoulders) and work your way down (arms, hands, thighs, calves, feet). Don’t be afraid to pause to kiss and nibble! While not flavoured, our Love Potions have just a hint of sweetness.
6. Massage their erogenous zones.
Part of the beauty of an erotic massage is that it allows you to show some love to body parts that may not get a lot of attention otherwise.
